Here at Waterfront Southport Hotel, we take the needs and equal treatment of all our guests extremely seriously. We are committed to ensuring out facilities and services are accessible to all.

Waterfront Southport Hotel recognises that there is no single hotel design or layout that will entirely meet every individual’s needs and preferences. If during your stay there is something else, we could do to assist you, or make your stay more comfortable, please allow us the opportunity to do so by contacting reception.

Accessibility and Mobility

On Arrival

The front entrance of the hotel is located on the Promenade. A drop off area is available. Reception is located on the first floor and accessed by 2 lifts with Braille buttons.

 

There are 5 accessible parking spaces in our car park. The car park is located on the lower ground floor of the hotel which is serviced by a lift to reception.

Checking In

The reception desk has a lower-level section where our team will be happy to assist guests using a wheelchair.

Porter service is available to assist guests with luggage.

​

Two lifts with Braille buttons connect all 5 floors. The lift door width is 900mm and each lift features 1 internal handrail.

Corridors are well lit.

Bedrooms

All of our bedrooms (excluding the penthouses) can be accessed without any steps. The entrance door width to most rooms is 840mm.

​

The hotel has 4 accessible bedrooms suitable for wheelchair users. Each accessible bedroom interconnects with a twin room.

​

The entrance door width to our accessible rooms is 900mm.

​

Bedroom door viewing holes are set at two levels in our accessible rooms for the convenience of wheelchair users.

​

A flip down bathroom stool features within each accessible shower room.

​

All rooms have direct dial telephones.

​

Room service is available from 12 midday – 9pm.

​

The fire alarm is audio only. However, systems have been put in place to ensure the safe exit of all our guests in the case of an emergency. If you have concerns on this issue, our Duty Manager will be happy to talk to you about these procedures.

​

Emergency pull cords are available in each accessible bathroom.

Restaurant and Bar

The hotel restaurant is located on the first floor and serves breakfast, lunch, and evening meals. Assistance is offered from the hot and cold buffet breakfast. Table service is in place during lunch and evening meals.

​

Most dietary requirements can be catered for, we do appreciate prior arrangement.

​

Most chairs are non-fixed in the restaurant and bar, some are designed with arm rests.

Whilst the bar may be too high for those in a wheelchair, table service is offered.

​

Large print menus are available on request.

​

There are accessible toilets on the ground floor which have a door width of 900mm.

The Terrace

Our outdoor terrace is accessible for wheelchair users.

Meeting and Events

If you are attending a meeting or event, car parking is available underneath the hotel. The hotel is accessed by lift from the car park to the first floor.​

Accessible toilets are available on the first floor.

Leisure Facilities

Our wellness partners Victoria Leisure Centre, opposite the hotel, features swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. This facility is housed in a Grade II listed building and is not wheelchair friendly.

Safety and Security

Should you require assistance in an emergency, a PEEP (personal emergency evacuation plan) form must be completed with our team.

​

Guest Safety Zones for use in emergency are located on the east stairwells of each floor next to the lifts. This is manned by a 24-hour telecom link to the hotel reception.

​

Our team members are First Aid trained.
